Self-Portrait Statement: For my self-portrait, I chose to have my frame be just a half body shot because I think it looks better than just a face or a full body because it’s not that far or that close. I also just don’t like up front photos. I didn’t do anything special or unique for my pose because I feel as if I can represent who I am with just being there. I’m a bland person so I think a generic picture suits me well. That’s also the reason why I don’t have any props like sunglasses or anything.
The diagram shows that lines ABllDE are proportional and parallel since they share line C. It also shows that Line C is vertical to line C. To get my distance from my pinhole camera I first converted my height, 5’4 feet, into inches. Then I divided it by 24 to get 2.6667. Then I multiplied it by 10 and rounded up to get 27 inches. To get my height I divided my body into 4 quarters. Since I had decided to use only half of my body I knew I had to get the camera to point at the top quarter. So I divided my height by ¼ and got 16. I then added 16 to my frame 32 to get 48.
Reflection: During this project I learned to make a pinhole camera. I learned the correct size and shape. During this project I also enjoyed loading, measuring, and everything else that had to do to with taking the actual picture. If I had a chance to do something different, I would try to make a better working camera earlier because I basically struggled and didn't take a really good until basically the day it was due.
